Thank you to local Maine author, Emily Leonard, for reading her book, Blackbear’s Adventure and sharing what hiking the Appalachian Trail is like during our Title I Author’s night on Wednesday. Additionally, we are proud to have one of the illustrators, our very own Mrs. Miller, who showed us how to make those illustrations!

Thank you to UMaine Football team members, Nick Kalume, Brian Santana, and Samuel Tremblay, for making our April Student of the Month assembly so much fun! Nick choreographed some fun football activities for the honorees. All three of them gave our students some words of wisdom and encouragement to do our best in school and in life, and they also signed a bunch of autographs!!! We also celebrated our staff members of the month Mr. Fraser, Mrs.Murphy, Ms. Kasprzak, and Mrs. Thornton! It was a great celebration!

The staff had fun this week keeping the students on their toes! The staff participated in an underground spirit week and didn't we get some looks and questions from students. For any student still wondering our days were anything but a cup, wear black, choose a holiday, sports, and read it shirts! Staff had a blast and students seemed to enjoy guessing what was going on.

Mrs. Madden’s first graders went on a listening walk today! We heard all sorts of cool sounds, then we went back to our classroom and wrote and drew all about them. We even know what an onomatopoeia is! We had a great time thinking of sound words.
