Happy New Year! We are excited to see our students tomorrow! Doors open at 7:30am and attendance is taken at 7:45am. Tomorrow begins a fresh start, here are some reminders to start strong.
Please make sure your student has their cold weather gear/inside shoes, knows their end of day plan, has a snack if needed, and has checked the lunch menu. We know 2025 is going to be the best year yet!
Throughout December, the 7th graders had an amazing opportunity to work with equipment provided by Jackson Labs to learn about DNA, genes, ancestry, eugenics, and informed consent. We used their DNA (spit) to perform all the DNA analyses. They got to use micropipettes, centrifuges, gel electrophoresis, and a thermal cycler.
The program, run through Jackson Labs, is called Teaching the Genome Generation and is typically geared toward high school students; only a couple of middle schools in Maine have access to these materials and equipment. We are excited to be one of them!
Second grade celebrated Grinch day!We did crafts and activities all related to the Grinch! We even watched the original cartoon and had Grinch cookies as a snack!
Mrs. Madden’s first graders celebrated the holiday with a Polar Express party! They filled out Elf applications to become official elves, made toys, decorated a tree, made elf hats and reindeer food among other things. And of course they watched The Polar Express with hot chocolate and sugar cookies!
Pre-K got into the holiday spirit with a "Alphabet hunt" brought to us by Gingy the gingerbread man to finish out our gingerbread unit. We followed clues that led us around the whole school to find our letters! We also celebrated as a family with hot cocoa and a cookie decorating party! Happy Holidays!

Mrs. Estes' class had a fun afternoon on the Polar Express! We especially loved eating smores and drinking milk as a mid way snack, AND getting a special present from the North Pole at the end!
4th Grade participated in a Readers Theater with the book The Animals Santa by Jan Brett, and 8th grade enjoyed building “the tallest tower” in the library!
Our lost and found is very large! Please take a look and see if you recognize anything!
One of the gingerbread people that has been visiting kindergarten went missing today!! After students made and hung up missing posters and asked staff around the building some clues began popping up. The hunt ended happily when the gingerbread man was found!! He even brought a treat the students enjoyed!
Mrs. Spencer’s class joined their reading buddies in Pre-k today to exchange holiday cards and for a ginger bread dance party!
