Today second graders learned about how spiders build their webs. We made some great connections between our lesson and the characters in our read aloud book Charlotte's Web! Students did a great job building their own webs! The webs were then tested for strength, stability and the ability to catch bugs!

Our 5th graders had lots of fun today experimenting with Oobleck! They have been learning about the 3 states of matter and how they change. Students were shocked to see how quickly Oobleck changes from a liquid to a solid and back again. Science is so cool 😎

Boys Soccer Update: The boys soccer team had an impressive match against the mighty Holbrook last night. Arguably the toughest team we’ve played yet, we managed to keep the scores low and took a proud loss of 5-2. A special appearance from Seth H and a pair of goals from Logan S had the audience and players stoked. You guys should be proud of how well you played last night and how much you’ve grown as a team this year. Next stop, playoffs. The boys will have practice Monday through Thursday next week.

The boys took a hard loss against Center Drive last night, losing the game 3-1. Another fiery performance from Landon M kept the opponent at bay. Jaxen M and Joe L put on a show, with Jaxen scoring a goal in his first ever game as a Milford Wildcat. The future is bright for our boys soccer team. Come see them play in their last home game tonight at 3:30 against Holbrook.

The Lady Wildcats played hard last night against a much more experienced Orrington team and try as they might, they just couldn't get one in the net. While they may have lost the game, they never stopped trying and played their hardest until the game was over. The Ladies play their last regular season game tonight at home, girls play second, come cheer us on! Go Wildcats!!

Boys soccer update: If only you could have watched the Boys Soccer match against Glenburn last night. It was one for the ages. One minute before the game started, Colton M suffered an injury and had to sit for the game. Landon M stepped up to fill in the sacred role of goalkeeper. The first half started bleak and ended with Milford down 1-5. Glenburn played tough and proved to be a worthy opponent. But it was the second half where we found our rhythm. Landon wowed the audience with some miraculous diving saves and kept Glenburn scoreless the entire second half. A series of goals from Douglas P, who ended the game with a hat trick, and John L, who also put a couple numbers on the board, made it so Milford tied up the game. But it was overtime where we faced our final hour. An impossible shot to block from Glenburn’s star player ended the game with a 6 – 5 loss. Regardless, the Boys showed what they’re capable of and are ready to get back at it tonight against Center Drive.

Boys soccer update: The boys soccer team left it all on the field last night at Caravel. The boys took a loss but didn’t let it get their spirits down. In the words of one of our own, “We may not be the best team, but we do have the best emotions and best celebrations.” That celebration did not disappoint when John L scored in the second half-- I think everyone from Carmel to Milford heard our team cheer. The boys continue to improve with each game and take every loss as a lesson.

Girls soccer update: The Lady Wildcats took on the Bobcats from Caravel Middle School yesterday. The team may have remained scoreless but they kept their heads in the game the entire time and showed much improvement after a slow start. The ref even commented on how much the girls have improved this season and how they never stop trying, even when they are behind! The Lady Wildcats have a busy week next week with practice on Monday, games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday so rest up this weekend!!
