Game Scores and Highlights:

11/30/2010 - Game #1: Glenburn @ Milford

Game Score: Milford 34 Glenburn 24

With a strong 34-24 win over Glenburn, our Girls B-Team started the season out right! Tianna Milton scored an impressive sixteen points, Erica Barnaby scored six, and both Aimee Georgia and Corinne Saucier had four. Brittany King and Rylee McGinnis rounded out the scoring with two points a piece. All the girls hustled on offense, but our defense was particularly strong. Everyone put forth their best effort, what more could a coach ask for? Let’s keep the momentum going. Go Wildcats!

12/2/2010 - Game #2: Holbrook @ Milford

Game Score: Holbrook 34 Milford 4

Our girl’s basketball b-team faced the Hollbrook team yesterday. We may not have won, but we made some real progress, adjusting our defense to the plays they were running and learning to get aggressive. I was proud of the team for a valiant effort and the determination to keep going. With a final score of 34-4, it was a tough loss, but now we have a solid goal for the future. Go Wildcats!

12/9/2010 - Game #3: Milford @ Orrington

Game Score: Milford 28 Orrington 15

I am pleased to announce that our B-Team girls brought home another win from Orrington last Thursday. With a final score of 28-15, our girls came out strong and kept it up through the whole game. The girls transitioned well from one defense to another, and they put to use the strategies we have been working on in practice. Our top scorer of the night was Erica Barnaby with 12 points, followed by Tianna Milton with eight, Brittany King had four, and the scoring was rounded out with two point contributions from both Aimee Georgia and Corinne Saucier. Go Wildcats!

12/16/10 - Game #4: Milford @ Caravel

Game Score: Caravel 23 Milford 3

Our Milford B-Team girls faced another challenging team last night. They were faced with a lot of tall girls who were quite aggressive. I was proud of so many things I saw, despite what the score said. The final score was 23-3, but it does not paint a full picture of what went on. Our girls played an aggressive game, really working to get the rebounds and move the ball. Despite the fact that we were at a height disadvantage, we got the majority of the rebounds. Our scorers were Rylee with two points, and Corinne with one. I learned a lot from this game too, and the next time we meet Caravel it will be a much different game! Great job girls!

1/4/2011 - Game #5: Milford @ Holbrook

Game Score: Holbrook 27 Milford 0

On January 4th our Milford Girls B-Team traveled to Holbrook. Despite a valiant effort, we were unable to score and lost 27-0. However, I don’t feel the score reflects some of the great things our team did. There was a lot of hustle, some aggressive rebounding, and we held the score lower than last time. The girls are learning how to change up their play during a game, adjusting for the defense and offense offered by Holbrook. The thing I was most proud of, as a coach, was the fact that none of the girls gave up, they played to the end, and I couldn’t ask for more than that! Go Wildcats!

1/6/2011 - Game #6: Orono @ Milford

Game Score: Orono 39 Milford 8

Our Milford B-Team Girls met up with Orono at home last night. Despite a loss of 39-8, our girls did a lot of great things. There was a lot of boxing out and rebounding, and our press proved effective more than once. I saw a lot of hustle and, as always, our girls never gave up. With four points, Tianna Milton was our top scorer, followed by Aimee Georgia and Emily Waters with two points a piece. Go Wildcats!

1/11/2011 - Game #7: Milford @ Hermon

Game Score: Hermon 68 Milford 5

Our Milford B-Team girls lost to Hermon on Tuesday. Despite many efforts to get scoring opportunities, the final score was 68-5. Contributing to our scoring were Aimee Georgia and Tianna Milton with two points each, and Erica Barnaby with one.

1/13/2011 - Game #8: Milford @ Glenburn

Game Score: Glenburn 23 Milford 18

What a nail-biter our B-Team girls had against Glenburn last night! With a final score of 23-18, our girls gave it their all, but despite the effort by everyone, the clock ran out too fast. Heading up the scoreboard was Rylee McGinnis with six points, Erica Barnaby and Corrinne Saucier each contributed four, and Aimee Georgia and Tianna Milton rounded it out with two points a piece. I hope everyone will join us to cheer on our B-Team girls for their last regular season game next Thursday (January 20) at home against Orrington, it should prove to be another exciting game. Go Wildcats!

1/20/2011 - Game #9: Orrington @ Milford

Game Score: Milford 23 Orrington 21

Well, what an ending to our regular season games! Our Girls B-Team finished strong in a 23-21 win over Orrington last Thursday night. A solid man-to-man defense and a successful press brought the girls to victory. Contributing to the scoring were Tianna Milton with 10 points, Erica Barnaby with 8, Rylee McGinnis with 4, and Corinne Saucier rounded it out with a foul shot. Go Wildcats!

1/27/2011 - Game #10: Preliminary Game - Orrington @ Milford

Game Score: Orrington 26 Milford 22

Though our Girl’s B-Team basketball team fought valiantly, we were unable to defeat the Orrington team in what would be our final game of the season. With a score of 26-22, the whole game was a close contest. There was never a spread of more than six points. Heading up the scoreboard was Tianna Milton with 12 points, Erica Barnaby and Corinne Saucier with four points each, and Rylee McGinnis rounded it out with a contribution of two points.

I would like to take this time to thank every one of my girls for having played a great season. They were patient with me as I learned the ropes of coaching, and we worked together to be a great team. Thanks to parents as well, without your support it would have never worked. I hope above all else everyone had fun- I know I did!
