Phase 2: Construction of Dugouts and Concession Stand/Storage Building

Status: Construction begining in April 2009
Robert Leighton owner of RL Sales and Service, a leader in Maine commercial construction, has volunteered to construct the dugouts and concession building. Mike Thornton, Thornton Construction has volunteered to provide the gravel. David Climo , proprietor of Climo Electric Inc. has volunteered to provide all of our electrical needs. Many, many, thanks to these outstanding Milford business leaders and community members. Without folks like these the Chaisson Field Restoration Project could not be accomplished.
Can you help in anyway?
Volunteer Construction Schedule
Phase Two of the Chaisson Field Restoration Project will begin in April of 2009. This phase consist of a major contribution to the Chaisson Field complex with the construction of 4 dugouts and a permanent 24 x 32 concession stand/storage building.
Phase 2 of the plan consists of :
- Construction of (4) 8' x 27' dugouts
- Construction of a 24' x 32' combination Concession Stand / Storage building
- Acquire donations for interior components to make concession stand
operational
- interior cabinetry,

- Coke/Pepsi Cooler,
- large refrigerator,
- large chest freezer,
- stove/oven,
- grill,
- deep fryer,
- dual sink,
- popcorn machine,
- hotdog steamer,
- pizza slice warmer.
- Insure total operational status of concession stand in order to provide income source to supplement the cost associated with the proper
maintenance
of the recreational complex and turf management.
- Acquire donations for picnic tables for citizens to enjoy the picnic area
- Organize local adult co-ed softball league to promote health and community involvement

The Chaisson Field Committee is currently working hard to continue to fund the entire restoration project through charitable donations with no cost to the taxpayers of Milford. We are writing funding requests and soliciting material and labor donations from area businesses, local corporations, and citizens to pay for the Phase Two construction effort.
Currently, we have raised enough money for the purchase of materials to complete the dugouts and to provide the shell of the concession/storage building. However, the donation of funds, materials, labor, and appliances are desperately needed in order to make the concession stand operational. Having the concession stand operational is critical because the proceeds from the sale of foods from the concession stand will be used to supplement the cost of maintaining the recreational complex. It is paramount that the recreational complex be consistently and properly maintained in order to protect this investment and to insure that Milford citizens can fully enjoy and utilize this wonderful recreational complex.
Donations Needed:
The following items are needed to make the inside of the concession stand operational: Interior cabinetry, Coke/Pepsi Cooler, large refrigerator, large chest freezer, stove/oven, grill, deep fryer, dual sink, popcorn machine, hotdog steamer, pizza oven, pizza slice warmer.
