Over time the Town ballfields located behind the Dr. Lewis S. Libby School had become run down and unsafe to use. An ambitious multi-phase restoration plan was developed by the Chaisson Field Committee with the goal of transforming the dilapidated ballfields into a community recreational complex that could be ultized and enjoyed by all citizens of Milford.

The plan would be financed using existing funds, securing grants, and by the generous donations from local businesses and citizens. The restoration of Chaisson Field would be achieved without any added costs to the the taxpayers of Milford.

Phase 1 of the plan consists of :

• Clearing of land to expand field complex
• Installing subsurface drainage features
• Grade field to proper elevation
• Construct new baseball / softball fields
• Construct new soccer field
• Construct measured paved exercise track
• Construct picnic area
• Install new fencing around the entire field complex

Phase 2 of the plan consists of :

• Construction of (4) 8' x 27' dugouts
• Construction of a 24' x 32' combination Concession Stand / Storage building
• Acquire donations for interior components to make concession stand operational

  2. Coke/Pepsi Cooler,
  3. large refrigerator,
  4. large chest freezer,
  5. stove/oven,
  6. grill,
  7. deep fryer,
  8. dual sink,
  9. popcorn machine,
  10. hotdog steamer,
  11. pizza oven
  12. pizza slice warmer.
• Insure total operational status of concession stand in order to provide income source to supplement the cost associated with the proper maintenance of the recreational complex and turf management.
• Acquire donations for picnic tables for citizens to enjoy the picnic area
• Organize local adult co-ed softball league to promote health and community involvement

Phase 3 of the plan consists of :

• Bleachers for softball, soccer, and baseball fields
• Score boards for softball field, soccer field, and baseball field
• Continued improvements to field complex and concession stand
• Construction of satelite concession stand for North end of the Chaisson Field complex
• Develop sponsorship program to provide financial source for existing and future needs
