Chaisson Committee Home Page
The students, parents and staff of the Dr. Lewis S. Libby School wish to thank our town, its leadership, citizens and donors for the tremendous support provided during the conception, development and completion of the new Chaisson Field.
The Milford taxpayers were the greatest heroes as they voted to provide the majority of the funding required to begin construction. However, it was clear that an additional sum would be necessary to complete the project.
Fundraising commenced with several discussions with many generous benefactors. As often happens in small towns, there are often a number of citizens that are approached for every project. But Chaisson Field was not just a project and these were not ordinary stakeholders in Milford, rather many were lifelong natives of the area. Some remembered their yesteryears at the Dr. Lewis S. Libby School or those of their children; still others have left but have family members that remain. Our deepest gratitude to our donors that provided for the completion of this important project:
The next steps of the continued development of Chaisson Field are to work with the town and school to ensure a well maintained investment and provide amenities that will support utility of the field. Dugouts, restrooms, concessions and storage are among the priority projects targeted by the committee.
Thank you to all who have participated and have given their time, talent and treasure to this wonderful asset for our community.
