Notice of Intent
The first stage in the reorganization process is the submission of a Notice of Intent to the Commissioner of Education by August 31, 2007.
The Notice of Intent must state the intent to engage in planning and negotiations with other SAUs for the purpose of possibly developing a reorganization plan to form a Regional School Unit (RSU).
The Notice of Intent is a very brief document. It is not a plan for an RSU; it simply states possible partners.
The Milford School Committee submitted two Notices of Intent to Commissioner Gendron.

Commisioner Gendron denies our Notice of Intent to form an RSU consisting of the towns of Alton, Bradley, Greenbush, Old Town, and Lagrange.
Commisioner Gendron accepts our Notice of Intent to form an RSU as developed by the State. This RSU consists of the towns of Alton, Bradley, Greenbush, Old Town, Orono, and Veazie.
